Forum Pro Jake Welch Loves our parks

EX Terrain Park Digger Jake Welch had some spare time inbetween photos shoots to come and spend the day hanging with his old boss… If you didn’t know Jake grew up at Brighton and when he was old enough I had to give him a job. He spent 3 seasons as a digger before his career took off. Now when around he still tries to take me in a game of skate. I think he lets me win… He is the nicest kid I know. If you ever get a chance to meet him you will understand.. Look for him in the summer at the SLC skate parks or playing paint ball with the rest of the old Diggers. Even though he is such a nice guy. Watch out for him and his A-5 paint ball gun. NO MERCY.. Also today is his 21st Birthday… What a better way to spend your birthday, ridding with the park crew..

Slug Games Lumberjack Jam

Last Saturday the fine people from Slug Magazine came up to Brighton and hosted the annual “Slug Games” competition. This year the Brighton Park Crew teamed up with their friends from snowboard video production crew “Team Thunder”, and created what was deemed the “Lumberjack Jam”. The park crew came up with a course design involving logs, stumps, tree slides/taps and other obstacles such as the ones seen in last seasons original grassroots-style snowboard video from Team Thunder entitled “Remember When”. Riders from Team Thunder such as Cody Comrie, Ricky Cheney, Kolby Takahashi, Ben Gustafson, and Sean McCormick judged the event on originality and style. Also, making good use of the somewhat difficult obstacles was the ticket to winning the original Lumberjack Jam trophies personally hand crafted by Slug writer/photographer Sean Sullivan.  Keep your eye out for a write up about the event and other photos in the next issue of Slug Magazine!

ThirtyTwo Announces a Brighton Park Staff-Only Collaboration

Go Green this year and wear Thirty Two Boots.

32brighton.jpg

This year Thirty Two and Brighton resort put their heads together and created an amazing looking boot.  Thirty Two took their classic Lashed edition boot, plastered the Brighton logo on it and helped outfit a hard working Park Crew.  Making only 50 pairs of these boots, they truly are a limited boot.

The Lashed series has been part of the Thirty Two family for a while.  The busy boot designers  have dialed this boot to please every style of rider.  Not only is it the most eco friendly boot on the market, using some of the strongest and most waterproof synthetic materials, it may very well be the most comfortable.  The Lashed has a flex level of five, offering a medium stiffness that satisfies every rider.  The Articulating cuff allows consistent heel hold through out your whole day of riding.  No more pesky heel lift or loose boots Thirty Two has dialed their boot technology to the ‘T’.

Thanks to Thirty Two for making an amazing boot and supporting our Local home resort, Brighton!
