Good times on Presidents Day
Twas a warm winter day, Presidents Day to be exact, at Brighton Ski Resort with epic sunshine, great setups, and the park was dressed to impress. Jon Spiris and I set out for a grand adventure. There were tons and tons of people there but we still managed to have high five moments and photo magic happen. After taking a couple of warm up laps Jon, and I decided to do work (while still having fun of course). We met up with some of the infamous park crew, Helen Wade, E-Fern, Alex Andrews and said hello and told them how fun everything was. Lap after lap shot after shot we still weren’t ready to leave the park was just to much fun! after filling my card with 150 pretty near banger shots we decided to throw the cams in the car and all take some rippers. Needless to say on my 2nd lap riding I broke my shoulder, but still was at a stoke level of 10. Ended the day in the Brighton Clinic with a awesome ski patroller and amazing doctors at the clinic.
THANKS BRIGHTON FOR AN EPIC DAY!
(there is no sarcasm it really was awesome even though I did get hurt)
Some of you are probably wondering who we are……..
Well first off Jon Spiris is originally from Michigan and rode with Eric Fernandez and Trevor Rhoda growing up. He moved to Utah for the reasons I think we all moved here for…..the snow. the people. the atmosphere. Right now Jon currently rides for Celtek Gloves, Oakley, and Blindside. He spends his time either the park, ninja’ing through trees, jumping in the backcountry, or even finds things to slide or jump off of in the streets. He is a super motivated, great attitude, and very talented person!
Now for me, my name is Ian Matteson I am a local photographer that was imported from Montana for the same reasons as Jon. I shoot skiing, snowboarding, people, animals, land, whatever I can get to jump in front of the camera. Currently worked with Variety Pack, Brighton Resort, Surface Skis. These shoots have ranged from backcountry to resort to the streets. You can come peep my site at www.ianmattesonphoto.com (under construction) hopefully finished soon!
