Hipster jam

Last saturday we had the hipster jam contest. Basically the name said it all.  With beautiful weather and huge tricks being thrown down it made it a great event to watch. Not only was it a contest for the riders but also a contest for photographers. Some of the standouts from the events were riders Everest Arnold and Kenneth Russel. Everest pretty much killed the competition with a huge frontside 360 over the whole thing. The photos from Jesse Anderson should explain it all.

Forum’s Droppin’ F Bombs Wrap Up

Well, the weather didn’t really cooperate, but the first Droppin’ F-Bombs contest at Brighton went down with great success. Over 100 kids signed up to test their skills against Brighton’s newest park obstacles. By the time the course opened, it was dumping, so speed was hard to come by, but that just meant you had to hike up a little further!  Ben Farrell took home some 09 Arena Bindings for his 50-50 to Bennihana off the Torpedo Jib, Alex Andrews found himself stomping around in some 09 Boots with his Cab 450/450 out on the Firecracker Jib, and Christian Hobush will be jibbing in style for the rest of the year on a brand new Youngblood for his 360 nose bonk on the Straight Up Bomb. Gut Bombs were served, so I shudder to think what the Brighton bathrooms looked like after, but the biggest explosions came after the contest when Brighton lit up a 20 minute fireworks show. Thanks to Jared and his crew for getting the course set up, and thanks to Evan for the killer event! See you next year!  (more…)

ARKADE GAMES-SUPER BRIGHTON WORLD COMP PHOTOS

The strong winds made it almost impossible for the fine people at Arkade Magazine to set up their tents and banners of fellow sponsors of the Arkade Games competition on Saturday March 1st. Despite the weather and the flat light, I was able to get a few subpar shots of many of the riders…Here is a preview. Keep your eye out for a full write up and other photos in Arkade Magazine!  (more…)

A funder day in the park with two thunders…

After hiking around all morning in Brightons backcountry with my extremely heavy photo backpack equipped with multiple flashes and tripods, we decided to have a little fun in the park before packing up and heading to Del Taco…It was just the three of us, Ben Gustafson, Will Tuddenham and myself (Dave Brewer)…I didn’t know that Will could do handplants, but he proved me wrong! The photos tell the story:
