A few photos from this week
It was another sunny week up here at Brighton Resort, which for most means sunny park laps. The wall ride is now set up at the bottom of the Majestic park, and the Candyland park was set up last week as well. Come on up!
Gatorade Free Flow Tour 2012
The Gatorade Free Flow Tour made its third stop in as many years at Brighton Resort this weekend. If you are unfamiliar with the Free Flow Tour here is a synopsis of its mission via the Free Flow homepage…
The Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour is the official amateur series of the Winter Dew Tour. In its third season, the Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour will search the country’s premier mountains, giving top ams the once-in-a-lifetime chance to go from “Flow to Pro”.
The goal is to find top am talent from across the country while giving the snowboarders and freeskiers of all abilities the opportunity to have fun while competing in a contest.
The 2011/12 Tour consists of 8 regional events across 8 mountain resorts in the U.S., featuring snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe) and freeski (slopestyle and superpipe). The winner of each regional event earns a trip to compete in the Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals held in conjunction with the Winter Dew Tour’s Toyota Championships. The champions in the six disciplines of the Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals earn a spot to compete against the pros at the first stop of the 2012/2013 Winter Dew Tour.
Gatorade’s partnership with the Free Flow Tour began in 2009, and with its presence comes added commitment to uplift amateur snowboarders and freeskiers and provide an extended platform to grow action sports.
Todays action was located in the My-O-My park which means the jumps took center stage. In addition to the double jump line the park crew installed a double barrel down rail at the top and then a riders choice between the Gatorade pyramid rail and the round bar w/ ledge box for a total of four hits per run. Good job to all of todays participants and thank you to the park crew, Gatorade, Alli Sports and co-sponsor Chipotle.

2013 Product from some of our Terrain Park sponsors…
I went to Denver last week to attend the Snowboard Tradeshow, SIA. There buyers and media were shown next years product from all of the major snow companies. I thought Brighton readers might like to see a bit of product from some of our park sponsors so heres some select 2013 goods from Lib Tech, Airblaster, Stepchild, Electric and 32.

The Street Recession .. a pure urban weapon made without metal edges so its catch free on wood or metal. NOT recommended for on hill shredding
Thanks to all these companies for their sponsorship of Brighton’s Terrain Parks
Brighton’s 75th Birthday Party!
Last night Brighton celebrated its 75th birthday. There was a raffle/giveaways, ice sculpture, smores and fireworks! Plenty came to celebrate and cash in on the 2 for $75 deal the resort had going on. Between the beer, smores, and raffle everyone seemed to be in a good excited mood and the fireworks looked amazing through the light layer of fog that rolled in around 7:15.
Local Kid Leftovers
A few leftover shots from the Brighton local kids. Say goodbye to this set up though, the snow is finally here and big changes (jumps?) are on the way!
